Penny just sat there staring at him, her mouth slightly parted. This was so not happening. This had to have been a really bad dream. Forget the fact that she basically had no idea what to do, now Bast was all upset over God knows what! She was trying her best to figure this all out, but it was slightly outside her range of power comprehension here. Something similar to this had never actually happened before, so she wasn't sure what all external factors were at play here. And it didn't help that he was acting like a child, or that he was a child. But Penny had to be the bigger person (no pun intended) here.
"Sully," she said slowly, reverting back to his nickname in hopes of getting him to come around. She didn't want to treat him like a kid even though he was acting like one. She figured she would just use a little psychology here. "I'm sorry. You're right. I don't know what you're going through, and I shouldn't have talked to you like that. I want to help you. Please don't be upset." She glanced back at the door of the newsroom and felt a bit antsy about still being in school. "Have you eaten anything? Maybe we should go get something to eat and talk this over more. Is that okay with you?"
