It hadn't been too busy at the hospital but someone had to fill the hours and help all the sick people from dying. Not that there had been anyone in the hospital that sick. Mostly Ty had made his usual rounds, met with new patients, gave one or two consults, and finished up so final paperwork but it was nothing out of the ordinary. For Ty, working at the hospital was the closest thing to being a 1950's television show as it could get. It wasn't too often that he treated someone with a head injury, let alone needed surgery. He had sort become just a general clinician like the rest of the doctors working there had. It wasn't as exciting as his old job had been but he didn't really see that as a bad thing. Excitement meant young kids coming in off of the street with gunshot wounds that needed immediate attention. Thankfully, they lived in a relatively safe area, aside from sudden outbursts of uncontrolled abilities being used, and his children never had to endure and live in that type of environment.
Ty was able to leave early tonight and headed straight home. It was nice when he was able to because he would get to see what was going on and spend time with his family, rather than sneak into the house in the middle of the night. Once he had arrived safe and sound in the driveway, he got out with his briefcase and coat in hand, locking the car up behind him as he headed to the front door. His keys jingled a bit as he tried to find the house key in the fading light though he eventually did so and opened the door.
He stepped into the house, hearing that lovely, familiar voice of his wife coming from the kitchen. He dropped his briefcase by the door and placed his coat on the hanger. Ty never tried to bring his work home with him but sometimes he couldn't help it; it was nicer to come to his family than sitting an office all alone. Luckily, everything was done tonight so it would just be him and his family for the rest of the evening. He adjusted his glasses and pushed up the sleeves of his sweater before he headed back to the kitchen. He pushed the door open and smiled brightly to Regina.
"I got something sweet for you," Ty replied as he walked over to her, bring his hands to her hips and pulling her into him. He tilted his head and lovingly pressed his lips to hers for a long moment before pulling back. "Smells good in here. What are you making?"
