Oh God. Oh God, oh God, oh God. She was crying, not just a little tear, but big time crying.
She almost blurted out 'oh, you mean that you control the weather?', but managed not to get Evan on some serious thin ice. (It had been revealed in a moment of severe intoxication on his point, could you really hold it against him?) If Natalie's emotions controlled her ability to control her power, it was entirely possible that Emily's did, too. Natalie got bursts of thoughts that gave her severe headaches, but if Emily lost control... hurricanes happened. Huh. Well, that explained the freak storm, didn't it?
"Okay. Um." Natalie looked a little like a deer caught in the headlights for a moment, before reaching for a tissue and handing it over to the younger girl. "To me, it sounds like you like this Sam guy. And that this Jacen kid broke your heart." She fidgeted with her hair again, a nervous habit. "Here's the deal, Em. If you let the douchebags of the past guide the rest of your relationships, you'll be miserable forever." She sighed. "I've dated some real assholes. I've been cheated on, and it sucks, but I know that I can't just... give up on relationships. There are good guys laced in with the jerks. You just have to sift them out." She offered a hesitant smile. "And. Well, maybe your skill has some... complications when it comes to relationships, but let's just say other people have managed to find ways to work around it, and I'm sure you will, too. I think you should tell him you're interested."
