Natalie couldn't help but grin. Sure, she was happy with Evan, but it was also nice to hear that other people liked their relationship, that there was more than the two of them that thought they could make it, that they were good for each other. "Thanks, Emily."
Oh. Well, snap then. Natalie tried not to look too surprised (and somewhat succeeded) at that revelation. She wondered if Evan was aware of how innocent she was. She really had no idea what the hell an Irulan was, but she was willing to let that one go. Good news was that Emily was probably just excited about a kiss. Maybe he would realize that he was completely over-reacting when it came to her and that-
Well, so much for that train of thought. Natalie's spoonful of ice cream went down a little slowly, and she had to clear her throat a bit before figuring out exactly what she was supposed to say to that. She set her bowl back down and took in a deep breath before beginning a little awkwardly. "Okay. Well, I don't exactly know this boy, so I can't tell much about his character, which makes it a little more difficult..." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. It basically sounded like she'd had a drunken hook up, but she hadn't said anything about that, and Natalie felt a little awkward saying 'so were you boozed up or what?'
"Okay. First of all, it's not, you know, some horrible thing to make out with a boy, or get felt up by a boy, or even have sex with a boy. For the record." Or she'd be a pretty bad person. "But I can understand that you didn't exactly plan on it happening that way, and I am glad that you two didn't sleep together. Your first time is something you can never get back." She hesitated a moment. "Sometimes we find ourselves caring about the people we least expected." Like your ex-boyfriend's best friend and the island's biggest playboy. "But you should figure out if you do feel that way about this boy, and once you do know, you should talk to him. And if it's not a... romantic feeling toward him, you need to tell him not to expect any more of what happened because, let's be real, he's a guy. He'll expect it again if you don't tell him otherwise."
