Natalie was pretty good at this stealthy stuff, Emily wondered if she had a lot of experience with sneaking people in? She chose not to question it because she was doing her a big favor, offering to listen while she spilled out all her confusion and uncertainty over what happened with Sam.
Emily found herself giving a little laugh at Natalie congratulating her on being stealthy, "All I did was do what you told me Natalie, I think you must have some experience in sneaking people in, I hope my brother has nothing to worry about." Emily gave another little laugh so she would know she was just kidding. Evan was totally devoted to Natalie and by what she knew Natalie felt very much the same about Evan. She was happy for them...Evan needed a strong girl like Natalie...she would make sure Evan didn't turn into their father, something Emily deeply feared, but never voiced.
The levity vanished when Natalie asked what she wanted to talk about. Emily's smile dropped and she took off her jacket and gave a little shrug, "Well, it's not super serious, I mean it's not like I'm pregnant or not a virgin anymore or anything. It's...complicated." Emily moved to sit on her couch. She took a deep breath, "You know that Anti-Valentine's Day party that I went to? Well...at that party...I sort of...kissed a boy."
