"I think that sounds like a good idea," Lexie told him gently. "I'm sure you'll figure it out. And hey..." Lexie squeezed his hand. "If you need me to... you know. Fix anything. I'll be here. Okay? You can count on me." Lexie moved away to steal one of the blankets from the other side of the couch and nestled beneath it, her legs half curled on the couch as she rested her head on Nick's shoulder. As the opening credits ran, she considered his offer, her eyes flicking to the bottle of rum and then to her own drink. Nick needed her. He'd had such a rough day and she really didn't want him to be drunk and alone in his apartment, especially given his strength. "I'll stay," Lexie told him. "And then when you have a massive headache tomorrow I'll make you feel better." She smiled. It was such a small thing, but it was something she could do for him.
Lexie kept tabs on his drinking as the movie went on. She protested a little more as the bottle became emptier and emptier, but eventually her own intake (only two, but that was enough for Lexie) was enough to mellow her. Tipsiness made Lexie laugh more, although she immediately (as usual) started having trouble with words. Fortunately, the movie saved her from having to do much talking, although she was still giggling lightly over the word "perspicacity" and how funny it had sounded to her. And she didn't even know what it meant! "Feelin' better Nickles?" Lexie asked through her giggles as the TV was turned off.
