Macy was too upset to move away from his touch. Had she been in her right mind, she might have backed away. Being that close to him reminded her too much of that kiss they shared-- the one she hadn't wanted. But now...well, let's just say it wasn't on her top list of things to worry about. "H-how..." She wasn't particularly eloquent, either. And his next few words confused her greatly. He'd protect her? And how was he going to do that? Then he leaned forward and her mind went blank.
