Lexie shook her head, her loose hair flapping around her cheeks. The expression on her face made it clear that she didn't want to hear his excuses, nor did she particularly believe him. Nick was a wonderful guy, but everyone knew (especially Lexie) that he had a temper. And she'd guessed how angry he'd been at the boys. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that he hadn't wanted to talk to them.
As Nick carried her ex-boyfriend and his new lover to the bedroom, Lexie stumbled closer to the door, leaning heavily against the wall so she could stay upright. She didn't say anything more, and she barely made eye contact with Wolf or Sarah -- the heavy silence that hung in the room in the wake of her lecture was more than enough to express her sentiments.
As Lexie began to move toward the door she responded to Nick's offer. "I'm--" she was about to say fine, but the fact that the fell against the doorframe rather contradicted that statement. Sighing lightly, she looked up at him and murmured, "Okay. Be gentle." Ordinarily the reminder would be completely unnecessary -- Nick was always gentle with her -- but after a night like tonight, when he'd been so brutal, Lexie felt like the reminder was worth giving.
