With his body wracked by sobs and his eyes half-blind with tears, there was really nothing that Rory could do except to look to the other two members of Nick's gang. He realized now that they were here more for support and intimidation than anything else, and when both Wolf and Sarah began to voice disapproval, Rory saw his chance. "Please," he begged them. "Stop him! Please!"
Rory could barely stand to turn his gaze back to Eisen and Nick. The limp way his best friend was slumped against the wall, the sight of the blood pouring from his face, the horrible clamor of voices... it was too much for Rory to take. Half-crazed with guilt and desperation, Rory tried to create a distraction. He knew that there was no way he would ever be able to beat the towering hulk; in fact, he was sure that his collision with him wouldn’t even make a dent. But maybe it would distract him. Maybe it would do... something. Anything. And so, Rory positioned himself carefully and began to swiftly wheel himself forward, aiming for the weak spot at the back of Nick's knees. "STOP!"
