Christine hadn't been entirely sure if letting Francis come by was a good idea. But there was something in her that needed to be on good terms with him again. It didn't feel good to not speak to the two people that she considered to be her best friends. So, when she got home from work that day, she had gotten to picking things up a little bit around the house, if only for her own satisfaction. Francis had gotten there at exactly 5:30 with, she noticed, the bottle of vodka that she'd given him for Christmas under his arm. That same bottle was set between them when they were both sitting at the kitchen table, likely to share.
She didn't see the point in keeping anything that Seth had told her from Francis when he asked, so she answered his questions. She talked about what she now knew about the failed experiments on the original patients, and about the younger people of the island being the next part of the experiment at large. And, of course, there was the fact that none of them were allowed to leave and what she'd been told about Francis' power of healing.
It seemed safe to assume that there was more to know. How could there not be with something such as the project? She tried her best to keep eye contact as he explained that he hadn't told her because he'd been told not to. Not saying anything was important, and she could at least imagine why. If the people that had been experimented on knew about it, it wouldn't be very pretty for the people responsible for making them that way.
Still, that didn't mean that Christine understood why he hadn't told her. Had their positions been reversed, she would have told him without hesitation. But...perhaps that was because they were very different people. "...why do you work for them, though?" She didn't see the logic in aiding people that had done what they had. In helping to hide information that affected so many people. But again, she and Francis were very different people. Maybe that was the issue.
