Ben had honestly expected to be rebuked, or to be told that he sounded crazy. But when Rory didn’t, Ben almost felt guilty for coming out here with the intention to yell at him. Were it not for the fact that he’d been doing this for Fiona, he probably would have. Sighing, he nodded in response to Rory’s question. “It is,” he said softly. When he managed to get a confession from Rory, Ben’s eyes widened. No, there had been no point in lying, but now that he actually knew the truth, Ben was kind of forced to face the idea that maybe he could detect lies. And while he’d always suspected, knowing was... an entirely different animal.
When Rory asked him not to share the information, Ben looked at him in surprise. “I wouldn’t. Never.” He was apparently the go-to guy, by force or by choice, for epic Earth-shattering crush-related secrets. Between Penny and Bast and now Rory and Eisen, Ben’s secret-keeping was pretty much on par with an undercover agent’s. Another possible career choice, he thought as he looked back at Rory. “This can’t be easy on you. Especially with everything happening with the drama spotlight being on he and Lexie.”
