The tension in the air was palpable as Wes's hand brushed against Jen's cheek. She felt a little better about the situation after he had done that. For a moment, she believed that she had been keeping him here against his will, but she hadn't done a thing to make him touch her like that. It was a mutual desire, she thought, and it was this thought that led her to do what she did next.
Her hand on his cheek slid to the back of his neck, where it rested amidst his thick locks of hair. She gave him time, all the time in the world or however long she could manage without losing her nerve, to back away from her if he wanted to. And slowly, she leaned in, eyes closing and lips parting the closer she got to him. The urge to kiss him was insatiable, though she still allowed him this one last chance to back down. Or meet her the rest of the way.
