Jennifer couldn't really understand the thoughts that were cursing through her head in that moment. She was so upset about her husband and her girls that she hardly noticed when Wes moved from his chair. It was only when she felt him nearby did she realize he was trying to comfort her. He was such a sweet boy. Sure, the other boys would stare and gawk at her all throughout class, but none of them ever offered to listen to her talk. They had probably banged her a hundred times in their minds, and that was all they really wanted to do.
She couldn't help but smile though and brushed away the few tears that had slid down her cheek. "Thank you, Wes," she replied, turning to face him. "I don't often get a chance to speak about this." And though she wasn't really the type of person to go on long speeches about how horrible her marriage was and the like, she did appreciate the fact that someone was willing to listen. "You're very sweet," she said, reaching up to take the hand he had on her shoulder with her own.
