The discomfort Gio had been feeling over talking about Glory faded considerably when Gio caught the look on Rory's face. He was seriously considering this chemistry power, whatever it was, and it made Gio feel kind of cold and clammy. Discussing powers with Rory as a reality had been fine when they'd been talking theory. It'd even been fine when they'd been trying to figure out if each other had powers at all. But to have actually, perhaps, found Rory's power? It was … too much, somehow. Gio didn't know what to think.
"Yeah, keep me updated, okay? I think I might start writing some of this down so I can look for patterns. We might be able to figure out the source of all this." Somehow, Gio knew that would make him feel better. To look at it through the lens of statistics made it all seem further away than it really was. Both Ed and Rory apparently had powers, and if that was so … maybe he and Nico did, too. They just had to think harder.
"Hey, I'm gonna … go relax, maybe do some homework." Gio pushed himself up from the chair and offered Rory a confused look, but it was brief. It was similar as to what happened with Glory, when they'd been walking together and both decided not having a power was good. He'd felt a sense of camaraderie there, and he'd also felt it with Rory. Now Rory thought he was onto something concerning a power and Gio felt more alone than ever.
When he got into the hall, he closed the door behind him gently, and headed for his room.
