“Mm, we might. Until they get it, of course,” she said, and then paused while chewing on a piece of meat. But before she spoke again, she was polite enough to finish her food and swallow. “We could always record it and put headphones on them at night. I hear that works with some children.” Makayla thought of the strangest things at the strangest time. That thought only came up because there was a program about it on the news the one night during the week. Plus, she almost thought of doing it in college before a big exam but never did because she didn’t want to choke herself by the cords of the headphones. She does roll around in the bed a lot.
One glass of champagne in and she was already feeling tipsy. Eating no lunch will do that to you. Of course she had a packed lunch with her, but she kept herself so busy to be able to come home early so eating something never crossed her mind. It did hit her that she should slow down on the drinks but one more never killed anyone. And the full course meal her husband made for her would help absorb the alcohol faster than an empty stomach would.
“This is really good. You did a great job, baby,” she purred happily toward Travis. Picking up her napkin and dabbing at her lips in the most ladylike manner ever before moving and leaning in to give her husband a quick peck against his cheek. Makayla sat there for a moment – basically deciding if she wanted more to eat or something else. “You know what we haven’t done in a while?” she asked suddenly, looking over to Travis as if the idea was about to slip out at any second.
