Oh, he was gifted. Gifted in so many things, Makayla told him time and time again that he was. Was he ever tired of hearing about it? So far, he hasn’t said a thing. So she was going to keep doing it until he does. “This really does look beautiful,” she said, giving Travis a wide smile after sitting down. He still had it in him to make a woman blush. Even if it was a simple kiss – which she was still savoring before the food took it away. Having the kids away for the night allowed them to even do this. She wasn’t expecting much to happen after the dinner, because anything after this would make her happy. They could relax on the couch and watch TV, and she would still feel at peace. Just being in his arms was all she needed.
Makayla couldn’t say a thing then because of how hard she was laughing, though her hand tried to stifle it the best it could. Blame it on the accent Travis had to talk with. She had to try and calm herself before doing anything else. But all she could really do right now was move the napkin onto her lap. Moving to pour herself a glass of champagne might have her husband stop what he was doing and do it for her. So sitting there and smiling up toward him was all she did. It was her night after all. Deep down though, her fingers were itching to do what Travis was doing right now. Although she was a workaholic, she was a domestic housewife. “Did the boys say anything before they were shipped off to the Tibbits?” she asked, stirring up idle chit chat between the two of them.
