Travis wanted to believe he was gifted on some level when it came to take care of his marriage, because half the time he felt playing by ear when it came to Makayla and the kids and being a generally awesome dad. Perhaps that was the thing; the less he was of a drone the more he could give of his true self, which luckily was just what his family needed. That and the fact he was one of the corniest guys on the island; he wasn't even going to argue about it.
Makayla's kiss came naturally, but then again, not as something mechanic and dead, as he remembered his own parents kissing just for the sake of doing it. No, her lips on his lips had the same effect of always, and he kissed back, although refrained from going too far with it; they still had to eat -Travis was hungry of just watching the food being done- and with the kids away, the night was theirs. "No, thank you", replied with a little smile as he quickly moved, pulling her chair so she could sit before going to his own side, only to return to the middle. "Might I tempt the lady with some Roasted venison loin with braised red cabbage, sweet German potato noodles, and juniper berry sauce?", asked with a fake accent as he waved a hand over the food. She didn't need to answer though, as he started to cut and serve. Damn, it smelled good.
