Makayla made sure every paper work that needed to be filed was filed; making sure which animal had to go home and which had to stay a bit longer for further observation. Yes, the other employees could obviously do her job, but these were the sort of things she loved to do before closing the clinic for the day. She allowed the other workers to go home early, since it was a Saturday, and plus, she didn’t mind closing up. Though, there are times, like this one, where she wanted to stay and continue to work. But she needed to get home because Travis was preparing a romantic dinner for the both of them.
Scheduling everything out like a workaholic does, she made sure the children were at Emma’s long before Travis decided to work his magical fingers in the kitchen. There are days where she would love to learn how to cook a simple meal and have him be amazed by it, instead of it being the other way around. She has tried on many occasions in the past, but of course, each meal was a failed experiment.
She couldn’t help looking at the clock every time she could while driving home. In the back of her mind she thought she was going to be late and ruin everything, because it has happened a few times before. And racing toward the house wasn’t the smartest thing to do in heels, but she did it anyways. Without falling and breaking an ankle, Makayla made it into the house with a husband waiting for her. Was he anxious about something? She was about to ask but the smell coming from another part of the house made her stop. It didn’t take her long to see the petals leading toward the dining room as well. All she could do was smile and bring a hand up to her chest to show how much she was adoring this very moment without any words.
