Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Glory and Gio
WHAT: They hang out for a few hours at Gio's house before he walks her home, and Gio realizes he should pop the question (no, not THAT question) before they reach her front door.
WHEN: Friday, January 28
RATING: PG

Partly cloudy and 30 degrees had never felt so bright and warm. All of the freezing weather and overcast days had been making snow seem a little less positive and more daunting as it piled higher and higher every other day. There was actually some meltage, but not a lot, and even the sidewalk he and Glory were carefully treading on had rough patches of ice they would have to slow down to cross safely.

Going more slowly didn't bother Gio. Talking and laughing with Glory that afternoon had been some of the most fun and exhilarating hours he'd had the whole week, and that was saying something considering he'd gotten new fish on Tuesday, after school. He'd shown them to Glory, of course, and even the memory of her appreciating them brought warmth to his face. She was so cute, so smart…. He wanted so badly to be her boyfriend.

Mayor Enders had even given him a chance to further their relationship by announcing the town Valentine's dance, but Gio didn't trust that would go as planned. No, he was definitely … definitely not good enough for Glory, no matter what Calvin, Axel, or his brothers said. Maybe she would say yes to going to the dance with him, but he was positive the only chance he had of that was asking her to go as a friend.

A friend. With him … and Axel. It was almost too nerve-racking to think about, even with the safety in place.

"So, uhm, I bet a million people have already asked you this, but are you going to that dance on Valentine's Day?" Gio asked with his eyes glued to the sidewalk beneath his feet.
