Jacob had a difficult time being angry, especially for an even-semi-extended period of time. He was mostly silly. That's not to say that his moods hadn't been marred by the onerous December. They had. He succumbed in some ways to the very bug he detested. He'd felt somewhat defeated the past couple weeks - what with all of the hospital visits, the kids fighting all over the place, Emma being stressed out way beyond her normal level. Sometimes it felt as if his face was the only one that still remembered how to crack a smile. His jokes were often met with rolled eyes or annoyed sighs.
But, there! There was his Lexie, calling back to him through her door. With a grin she couldn't see, but that was decidedly wolfish, 'kay?, Jacob gave a very loud, head-thrown-back howl. (This is what happens when one's father is the theater professor.) He then opened her door, very casually. "Oh, hey, kid."
It seemed they both needed cheering up (and maybe some light discussion about some blog posts).
