Emma smiled patiently as Annie pulled a chair up. "Let's hope not," she commented offhandedly as she reached forward and took the CD from her hands. She turned it over and gazed down at it. She'd known briefly about it from the journals, but wasn't sure how to bring it up, or the exact details. Now that it was sitting in her hands, she couldn't help but feel overwhelming pride at how wonderful and talented her daughter was. Okay, so she hadn't listened to it yet-- and it could be guaranteed that the second Annie left, it would be shoved into the player next to her desk-- but Emma had no doubt in her mind that it was perfect. "Two months? Wow. That's dedication. Oh honey..." She was at a loss of words. It was difficult to express exactly how she was feeling at the moment. Still, she couldn't take her eyes off the case in front of her.
Only when Annie spoke again did she look up. "Sure, is everything okay?" If she hadn't told Alfie or Lexie something, that surely meant it was important. Not that Annie regularly kept things from them, but if it was going to come up pretty quickly, then Emma could deduce that it was something the other two did not know. It was also likely that Emma didn't want them to know.
She lay the case gently down on the desk and folded her hands in front of her, giving Annie her full attention. "Ask away."
