Natalie almost cried out at the glorious sight of uneaten pasta, but managed to settle for breathing out, "Oh, thank God," instead, as she finally released her death grip on Evan's hand. It felt impossible that they had been sitting there a few minutes ago, eating and chatting away about nothing.
