Okay. So that had actually just happened. He stared blankly at her for a minute once she pulled away, feeling stupid for his loss of words. But, it had been a long time since he’d been kissed and that it was Charlie was just adding to exactly how gobsmacked he was feeling at the moment. He blinked and then finally came back to reality. Charlie was talking to him. He should probably respond. “Plan B is overrated,” he pointed out. “And no, terrible is definitely not an adjective I would use right now.”
Rather than let her think that he’d meant something else by that, he leaned in and caught her lips with his again. It was still innocent, mostly because he didn’t want to push his luck, but it was definitely just as intense as when they’d kissed the first time. And it was Charlie. Which made it better.
When he finished kissing her the second time, he smiled a little bit and smoothed a little hair back from her face. A tender gesture, and maybe Charlie wouldn’t like it, but he couldn’t resist. He was feeling pretty vulnerable, in the best possible way, at the moment. “More like… amazing,” he pointed out softly.
