Eisen didn’t often voice his concern for Rory’s well being. It wasn’t his place to talk about and he didn’t like bringing it up to Rory, because it only reiterated the unpleasantness. But Lexie, he knew he could trust Lexie. “I try not to worry about him too much, you know? But I think sometimes I’m the only one who sees that side of him. He wants everyone to think that he’s so tough, but…” he stopped, shaking his head no. He shouldn’t be talking about this. It was a betrayal. Girlfriend or not, Rory’s private moments were his alone and that Eisen was even voicing it aloud was just…not a good idea. “Never mind. I shouldn’t talk about this. I’m sorry.”
Instead, he focused on Lexie, and how adorable it was when she flushed red and giggled like she did. “I do know about that,” he said, grinning a little more at how she slid her fingers into his hair. “And that you don’t know how else to be is one of my favorite things about you. You’re just a good person. I can’t get over how lucky I am.”
