As per usual, Rory had been right as rain and Eisen was thanked by a kiss that would make anyone smile. He reached a hand up to caress Lexie’s cheek and smiled, his fingers making their way through her hair as the fact set in…she’d loved it. “Thank you,” he said shyly. “I’m glad you like it. I was worried,” he pointed out, though really, he shouldn’t have.
She seemed just as anxious as he was, and he wondered why. She was a good musician, and she had absolutely nothing to be anxious about. And his point was proven when she started playing. A smile spread its way across his features as he listened to what she was singing. Sweet. He was smiling with his whole face by the time she finished and it was hard to say when the last time was that he’d felt so… wanted. So appreciated.
He approached her when she finished, standing behind where she’d been at the keyboard, and turning her in his arms. “That was beautiful,” he said softly, reaching a hand up and sliding his fingers along her cheek, then leaning in to press their lips together. “I love it. Thank you, Lexie,” he finished, then kissed her again, a little bit deeper this time.
