It was almost scary, really, how much this hurt Eisen. It was Rory’s problem, but much like Rory always seemed to take Eisen’s problems to heart, the same could be said of Eisen toward Rory. He turned his head and looked at Rory, at how he was leaned against him, and gave a bit of a smile. “Well, hey,” he started, turning himself a little and making it a little more comfortable for Rory to lean on him like that. “You’ve always got me. I may not be Fiona Bailey, but I can promise that I’m always gonna be here for you,” he promised. Eisen may not have been the smartest guy alive, but he knew that friends like Rory, friends who were there for you no matter what you happened to be going through, were once in a lifetime things. There was pretty much nothing Rory could do that would scare him away.
“I am right. Maybe the apocalypse will start because of it, but this time, I’m right. I know it,” he said with a small smile as he looked straight ahead, eyes on the wall but really not focusing on anything. “You’re like, every girl’s dream. Every girl secretly, or not-so-secretly, wants someone who’d quote them a sonnet or write them a poem.”
