“Don’t apologize,” Eisen smiled a little. There was no reason to apologize. There were few people he would trust with his guitar. Very few. Three, in fact. But right atop that list was Rory. “It’s okay. It was pretty much begging to be played and I haven’t had much time lately, so…” his smile showed Rory that he wasn’t angry. Curiosity overtook the part of him that would have been upset. “Only thing I have to complain about is that you didn’t ask me to help you learn.” Okay, so that wasn’t the only thing. The whole ‘no secrets’ thing was bothering him a very little bit, but it was easily ignored with how impressed he was with Rory’s skill, especially, he assumed, without professional guidance.
How much did you hear? The question was simple enough, but couldn’t be easily answered. Eisen’s mind was saying, enough to know that you aren’t as strong as you lead people to believe, but he knew that would only serve to make Rory angry. So, he smiled gently and squeezed his friend’s shoulder. “I heard enough,” he said calmly. “I’m not mad, Rory, I promise.”
