Penny giggled again and shook her head. "Well when you manage that, maybe you could teach me a thing or two. I'm curious to see just how adaptable you really are." As if cheesy one-liners weren't enough to make her feel like a dork, she had to go and expand on his little puns. Perhaps this was actually good for her. Perhaps this was helping her expell some pent up energy that she couldn't when she was just Penny.
"Ah, you think Songbird has a bedtime? That's cute." She nodded even though he couldn't see her. He was finally getting around the topic of choice here. "That's what we need to figure out, S, if you're up to it, I mean. Out of everyone, you're the one I trust the most to be... delicate... about this situation. I hope I'm not wrong about that."
She checked her watch and noticed that it really was getting late. Yes, her mother would worry, but she could have just as easily been out with Annie. "If you're down for this, contact me when you have a scoop. I'll do the same. And S? Before I go, I need you to promise that you won't go around trying to find out who I am. Trust me. You don't want to know."
