Jacen appreciated the gesture. He would have said more, but that would have involved having to dredge up the conversation in detail. And he was sure he'd already beaten than conversation with a stick by the time he'd finished talking to Annie. Besides, girls required more details than boys. And Ben seemed to understand just fine with just the brief summary anyway. This helped bring a grin to Jacen's face. He offered Ben his hand to shake. "Thanks, man."
Now that things were mostly squared away, Jacen had to think about other things, such as when was the right time to tell Calvin about all this and how he was going to get things like his mail from home. He still had that one Harvard letter to be on the look out for, but not even a letter could keep him home for much longer after that. "Crackers sound good though," he said finally, deciding that was a safe idea. "How's everything with you?"
