Mari had been to bars countless times before, but the one thing that set her apart from most bar-goers was that she rarely had anything to drink. She wasn't all too fond of drinks, though she had ordered maybe a margarita or two in the past. Having dressed up nicely, she easily made her way to the bar and smiled her greeting to the door greeter. In an instant, she noticed Brendan hard at work.
With a smile, Mari made her way down the bar, her huge purse in tow. The one thing about Mari was that she was at ease in almost any situation. She could see the bigger picture and adapt to it accordingly. So, even if she wasn't big on drinking, she didn't feel out of place here at the bar. This was where Brendan worked. Why shouldn't she be happy to be visiting him?
Sliding in between a man and a woman sitting at the bar, she set down her purse and waved to Brendan. "I'll have ice water on the rocks. Extra lemon please?" And Mari knew how to make fun of herself. She didn't take herself seriously, which made it easy to laugh about almost anything.
