At this moment, Nathan felt somewhat ignorant that he had no idea what she was talking about. He did read, sure, but it was mostly for class and never really did any pleasure reading. "Yeah.. sounds interesting." If there was any sarcasm in his voice, it wasn't intentional. He just didn't know how to get excited about literature. Why read the book when in less than a year later the movie would come out? Society had seemed to engineer it that way. He would admit that he may have been missing out on something too, but it wasn't a big deal to him.
"You like reading books about tanks? That's an obscure choice. I thought you'd be like one of those Jane Austen types." Even the fact that he remembered the name of an author other than William Shakespeare, or any other author that he had heard about in English class, was somewhat impressive to Nathan.
