As Savannah got up suddenly, Nathan watched her move towards the mantel to a small box. He had seen it sitting there earlier, when he had grabbed the lighter, but he wouldn't have figured there was anything inside of it. He put his cocoa down as she came back and took the candy cane from her, "Thanks. It's a kind late of late but thanks. I guess I owe you some Peeps on Easter or chocolates on Valentine's Day or something." The truth was he didn't really eat too many candy canes, although he would every once in while. He set the candy cane down and picked his cocoa right back up.
"Why would I think that?" Until she mentioned that she wanted to dry off, he hadn't really noticed how wet his clothes were. Thankfully his athletic skills as well as his keen awareness allowed him to stay somewhat drier than some of the others but he had been surprised by a few rogue snowballs. Deciding that he too was colder than he cared to be, Nathan moved down onto the floor and closer to the fire. "I'm not trying to move closer to you," he joked with a grin.
He took one more sip of his cocoa, eying to realize that it was almost empty now. "So what else were you planning on doing with the rest of your 'snowcation'? Reading a book?"
