I love you too, baby, Lulu signed back to her son, ruffling his hair a little before beginning to get the more perishable items into the fridge. "Well aren't you the little peacekeeper?" she said (and signed), nudging him gently. "That's the thing you get from your other mom." It was a pretty true, after all - Lulu may have been custom-made to handle crises, but that didn't mean she wasn't the more hotheaded of the two women.
She glanced over her shoulder at Mao as she put the milk into the fridge and laughed. "I didn't say you asked him to," Lulu pointed out, closing the refrigerator and setting out the baby spinach she'd gotten for a salad. "I said that you were disappointed that you hadn't gotten to that point. There's a difference." She strolled casually past him to put some crackers away, then turned around and looked him straight in the eye. "Lily is my best friend and she's worried about her son. Sorry Mao, but that trumps a few ruffled feathers. I'm big on honesty," she nodded over at Wolf, "my son'll tell you that. If you want to know her opinion of you, you better ask her yourself." She smiled, "And like I said. I defended you. I told her to keep an open mind. And if it's any consolation, she's like me. She'll do anything in the world for her baby boy, so if you make him happy, then she's going to deal with it. End of story."
