Mao's head pat served to be both condescending and a signal for Wolf to look up and catch what he was saying. Wolf smiled in response, and did push himself up just enough so he could slide onto the couch beside Mao, sitting close facing him. At first his eyes lingered around Mao's mouth by default, because most of the people he communicated with didn't know how to speak to him properly with their hands, but when he saw Mao's hands begin flying, his gaze dropped to watch them.
When Mao tease-flirted with him, Wolf's mouth twisted in an attempt to keep a straight face, though he waved his fingers near his mouth to sign laughter. Of course, the point of signing laughter without even a smile was to let Mao know he was totally off track. More of a sarcastic 'ha ha.'
"I have news for you and you're not gonna like it," Wolf said, and signed that to Mao as well. Even though Mao didn't need to read his hands, whenever someone signed to him Wolf thought it polite to sign back. "I might have – okay, I did – tell Lulu some private information about you and Luke, and she told Luke's mom."
