"That jackass? Never. But it could always be worse, right?" She ran her stockinged foot up Kenzie's leg under the table. "At least you got to come home."
Lulu clenched her teeth a little, hissing before she took a bite of her own food. That man really got her grill. It was bad enough that all the adults had to deal with him, but to pick on them this way? Ugh. And it wasn't like that best friend of his was any better. She could handle Charles, though. Then again, she handled crises for a living (theoretically). She just wished people would be less idiotic.
Lulu was about to throw in a dark comment to complement her partner's rage, but that train of thought got completely derailed at Kenzie's word choice. She snickered softly, taking another sip of her drink. "I love that you just said 'schoolmarm.'" She tilted her head to the side and looked at Kenzie fondly. "You're adorable." Now that Lulu was out of anger-mode, she decided it was time to try to help Kenzie break out of it, too.
"So! Gossip time! So Lily and I were texting yesterday about jello shots," she gave Kenzie a significant look, "and the conversation turned and she said that that Asian kid Mao? He apparently has a crush on Luke. A big crush. Which I personally think is adorable, but Lily doesn't like him much since he's... well you know." She shrugged. Mao was over at their house to hang out with Wolf enough that Lulu felt she didn't really have to go on.
