Dietre never read anything deeper into being told he looked great, he wasn't vain, though not entirely modest either. He knew he wasn't ugly, and if he was dressed in nice clothes, then of course he would look good, it was only logical. "Thank you." He didn't mind if Glory wasn't as dolled up as he was, she always looked lovely to him, besides, he had been the one to invite her to dinner, so he was the one who needed to impress her.
Too big? What on earth could she have gotten him that was too big? "...You didn't have to." He wasn't accustomed to receiving gifts, he had few material desires, presents weren't required as long as Gloriana was his friend. He wouldn't refuse her gift though, only because he didn't want to hurt her feelings.
"I got one for you too, and I hope that you like it...too." That sounded a little awkward, Dietre didn't like when he couldn't find a more proper, or eloquent way of saying something. He turned away from her and got a small wrapped box from his desk. An idea came to him. "...Maybe we can open our presents together?" He offered Glory his arm so that he could lead her back downstairs like a gentleman.
