Honestly, Jac was thrilled. She loved having this kind of attention, totally focused on her. Plus, it was all around pleasant. James may have been trying to scramble, but she was kind of enjoying the lack of focus and the way everything seemed kind of soft around the edges. Plus his body was really warm, she could already feel it, and lately she'd been feeling cold like all the time.
She also had no real idea what he was talking about anymore, and so instead of responding - normal people, what the hell, she guessed that was true but still - she tilted her head down, hair falling over her shoulder. She had always liked when people played with her hair.
His question both reminded her that she should be listening and startled a laugh out of her. "What? I'm not going to punch you in the nuts, James, don't be stupid."
