Chuckling, Eisen half-smiled. “Just because I don’t have to, doesn’t mean that I don’t want to,” he offered. “I’ve thought a ton of times about how our first date would go. I want it to be perfect…” he admitted, bowing his head and chuckling awkwardly.
With a shrug, Eisen swallowed thickly. “I dug around in my parents’ room a lot. It’s sort of what caused the tension between us, you know? I was tired of feeling different and not knowing why, so I went to find out the answers. The first time I got caught, they grounded me for a month. The second time, we had a big blowout fight and the third time was when I decided to move out…” he explained. “Things haven’t been the same since.”
She compared his feelings about this fight with Rory to her feelings when she fought her brother and he nodded sadly. “I hope it’ll be okay. I have to hope.” He knew, though, that even above Eisen, Rory cared for his brothers. At this point, he honestly expected never to hear from him again.
