Ten minutes was certainly not enough time for Lexie to clear her head and work out her emotions, but in the state she was in, Lexie was pretty sure that she wouldn’t be able to do that even if she’d had ten days, and the way she’d left things, she really didn’t want to keep Eisen in suspense for long. One thing was certain, though - she had to call Ed. She had to tell him what had happened and get his honest reaction before she could make any kind of decision.
And so it was only after a pleasantly painless phone conversation that she began to make her way back to Eisen, her heart skipping in her chest as she drew closer and closer to him. Framed by the soft showers of snow, Eisen looked... perfect. She almost wanted to pause, to take a mental picture, but she barely slowed down. She couldn’t. There was only one place she wanted to be now, and that was sitting on that bench next to him.
Approaching quickly, she noticed that his cell phone was out, his fingers flying over the keys. She smiled - he had to be texting Rory. “Tell him you’ll talk to him later,” she said softly, sliding onto the bench next to him. Now came the hard part. What did she say? Although she could express herself fairly well, words had never really been Lexie’s thing. She’d always relied on music to convey the emotions that she wanted to get across, and now, with that option barred, there was only one other way she could think of to express herself without tripping over her words. “I talked to Ed,” she bagan, by way of an explanation. Finally, she decided on honestly. “I don’t really know what to say,” she admitted to him as she studied his face. “So I’m just going to kiss you and hope it turns out alright, okay?” And she did. And she agreed. It felt... right.
