A small part of him honestly wished that Lexie had asked what took him so long. That way he’d actually have to ask himself that question. He smiled awkwardly and cleared his throat, watching the expression on her face go through about six different phases before settling on some sort of expression that he didn’t even remotely understand. She pulled him in for a hug and he was surprised, but pleasantly so, as he watched her draw away.
Then she spoke. A dark eyebrow arched upward as Eisen listened to what she said, but he nodded his head in silent not-quite-understanding. “Um...okay,” he said softly. “I’ll be waiting over there,” he said, pointing over to a bench underneath a tree, shaded enough to be somewhat devoid of snow.
On his way there, he slid his cell phone from his pocket and pulled up a text message screen, typing in Rory’s number.
