Lexie giggled, turning her eyes down and her cheeks flushing in pleasure as he complimented her. “A super-smile.” I guess it’s… something like that. she thought to herself as she settled into her seat. Her eyebrow quirked in concern when he seemed to falter, then patently avoid her question. “If you say so,” she said suspiciously, then added, in a softened tone, “you make me smile too.” She held his gaze for just longer than was really necessary before turning to her pasta and beginning her meal.
“Altruism it is, then,” she agreed. “And very tasty altruism it is, too!” She almost added that he should feed her more often, but the last thing she wanted was to seem greedy. She was lucky enough just to get one meal out of him and she really didn’t want to trespass on his sweetness. After a few moments of satisfied chewing she said, “So tell me about your break! Did you have a good Christmas?”
