“Dinner is clearly more important than studying. At least… for now,” Lexie responded, glancing around his apartment and taking in the wonderful smell. “And it smells great, by the way.” Just like you, Lexie thought as she hung up her coat and followed him into the kitchen. Eisen had always smelled good, Lexie though, even when he hadn’t just showered. Lexie had seen him at his worst (or what she assumed was his worst) after his breakups with Cait, but even then he’d managed to smell good when she hugged him. Not that she ever told him this. Not that she could.
Installing herself at a chair at his kitchen table, Lexie looked over at Eisen. “Can I help with anything?” she asked hopefully. She hated to sit around while other people were busy, especially if they were busy doing something useful, like preparing food. “You know how much of a failure I am at cooking, but I could do something else? Maybe?” Lexie had a “please let me help” look on her face that she was really hoping Eisen wouldn’t be able to resist. After so much time being in the hospital, she really wanted to be as useful as possible to make up for lost time.
