So maybe he wasn't totally thrilled that he was being woken up in the middle of the night, but he wasn't about to just tell Gio to leave just for the sake of getting back to sleep. He'd feel like a jerk, and there also wouldn't be any guarantee that Gio would be able to get to sleep at all. And that just wouldn't be any good. So he was more than prepared to sit up and talk, or whatever it was his little brother needed.
He didn't really know what it was that made him so good to come to on those sleepless nights, but it didn't really matter. Ed just wanted to be a good big brother, and that was exceedingly important to him. He was feeling a little less drowsy, which was good. It wouldn't do to fall asleep in the middle of a conversation.
"Oh...being around break-ups isn't always good. Especially if they're both your friends." He ran his hand through his hair again. "You got a girl's number? And...why don't you think you can handle calling her?"
