What: awkward times
When: tonight
Where: Calvin's house
Rated: Low
Status: Complete
She waited until it was night to go over. The extra cover of darkness would keep her current task at hand a secret, at least until she got to her destination. Anyone who might have seen her would have known what she was doing right away. How could they not? She had a giant box in her arms heading straight for the Parker's house. A few things were visible, sticking out from the top-- books, animals, some kind of clothing. An idiot would have even guessed. She was returning all of Calvin's belongings.
It wasn't the final step, but she was on her way to being okay with everything. She still missed Calvin more than she should. She still loved him. She still cried herself to sleep at night. In fact, there was at least one thing missing from the box: a sweatshirt that she'd been sleeping in. It still smelled like him. She wouldn't give it back until she was good and over everything. For now, it was like her security blanket.
It didn't take her long to get there. Her fingers were cold from the whipping wind, but she managed to hold onto the box until she climbed his porch. Only then did she put it down, to ring the doorbell and blow on her hands. God, she hoped he was home alone. Or, at least that he would answer and show her immediately to his bedroom. She didn't think she could give everything back with an audience.
