Who: Maribel and George!
What: She picked up a power (guess whose!), and it's going nuts!
When: Friday morning.
Where: Somewhere in the middle of town.
Rating: TBA
It was a good thing Mari liked getting places early. Fridays were the only days when she could work at the school all day since she didn't have to attend any classes. So, it was customary for her to get there about an hour before even most teachers and students decided to show up. Today was no exception. She left her house and made it to the school parking lot as she normally did on Fridays. That was when it happened. For some reason, the steering wheel felt colder than usual. And the taste of her coffee still lingered in her tongue despite it being long gone. And her head felt like it would explode any minute.
The suddenness of this onset of powers (of which she really had no idea what they were or who she'd gotten them from) was leaving her gasping. She couldn't touch anything without feeling extreme cold or heat. And every sound in the known universe resonated tenfold in her ears. "Dios..." She covered her ears with her hands. Even her own voice sounded loud and headache-inducing. Whoever had this power must spend all of their time in the hospital. At the moment, Mari felt like the only way this would go away was if she was sedated. Quickly, she picked up her cell and dialed (wincing every time she heard the sound of a key on her keypad).
Holding the phone as far away from her ear as she could, she told the principle that she wasn't feeling well and just wouldn't be able to come in to work. Then, she backed out of the parking space and began to drive. That wasn't helping matters. The revving of the engine was driving her mad. And then... she slammed on the breaks and nearly screamed out. Her eyes. It was like she was wearing glasses for blind people. She closed them immediately and knew she had to pull over somehow. By this time, she was shaking from nerves and slowly opened one eye despite the way her vision was malfunctioning. How she managed to pull over was beyond her, but the only thing she could do was sit there with her eyes closed and her hands over her ears and try to relax. Nothing else would help her get over this right now.
