Ed had spent the greater part of the weekend mulling over just what he was going to do. He knew that it had been Lexie's birthday on Friday and while he'd really wanted to go visit her, he just...didn't. Because to be perfectly honest, she was such a beautiful girl that she made him feel like even more of a moron because he didn't know what to say. But, he also knew that being in the hospital couldn't have been fun for her, and seeing friends and such would be a good thing. Ed had been going back and forth about it all weekend, but by the time Monday morning had rolled around, he'd made his decision. His final for Biology was in the later part of the morning, but once that mental trauma was over, he'd left the campus. His destination? The flower shop. It was normal to get people in the hospital flowers or balloons. But he'd decided on flowers. Flowers suited Lexie more anyway, though there was no way that they could stand up against how pretty she was.
He'd decided on a bouquet of tigerlilies and yellow lilies. She'd mentioned before liking tigerlilies...so hopefully she would like the flowers. The bouquet was wrapped in decorative paper with a ribbon and a miniature 'Get Well Soon' balloon placed within the flower heads. Hopefully she'd like them. He'd feel like an idiot if she didn't.
Trying not to lose conviction, Ed made his way to the hospital, trying really hard not to psyche himself out about things. The last thing he needed was to talk himself out of it. It was simple enough to follow the procedure for visiting. The nurse let him know which room Lexie was in, and he thanked her with a smile before making his way up. He checked the numbers by the doors he passed before he finally came up to her room. With a soft sigh, he walked into the doorway, knocking softly to let her know someone was there.
"Um...hi, Lexie," he said with a smile. Hopefully he wouldn't make a fool out of himself.
