“I think maybe it’s escaped your lips once or twice,” Eisen half-smiled. “Still never gets old, though,” he shrugged and let his grin spread a little more. He paused and shrugged. “I’m sure you’d get tired of it eventually, but you know, I do have other things in my cooking repertoire. Roast chicken? Mashed potatoes? Homemade pasta salad…” he smirked. “It shows that I cooked Thanksgiving dinner at my house, doesn’t it?”
He listened when she mentioned finals stress and nodded his head. “When you get out of here, if you need some help studying, I’d be more than happy to,” he offered, a more genuine smile crossing his face. Lexie wasn’t like him, in that she wasn’t lazy when it came to schoolwork. She got on his case about it every once in awhile, but she never made too big of a deal about it, which was a good thing. She was encouraging without being pushy. It was one of the things that he really appreciated about her. “At least they’re understanding, though. None of this is your fault, Lex. Sometimes bad things happen to good people…which is a crappy explanation, but it’s all I’ve got…other than that I’m here for you.”
Really, knowing things about people was one of Eisen’s specialties. He may have been lazy, but he listened when people talked, and not only that but he took in what they were saying. “I just listen when you talk,” he shrugged a shoulder nonchalantly. “Sorta needed the help of the internet and ‘similar bands’ on some of these, but yeah. Most of it is just me listening.”
