Rated: PG-13 for swearing on Maggie’s part.
It was shaping up to be a bad day for Maggie so far which didn’t bode well for the interview she had later this afternoon with the landlord of Oceanview apartments. The morning had started with Maggie being woken up by her dad yelling at her mother. She had hoped to get out of the house without a fuss but that didn’t pan out when her dad shifted his anger to her. Her parents, particularly her father, were not happy about Maggie’s decision to move out, to say the very least. All the yelling in the world wasn’t going to stop her though, if anything it was just motivation. Maggie was determined to be out on her own and had even made a point of dressing to impress by donning a skirt, sweater and even doing her hair. It was different from the usual ‘throw on whatever and barely brushed hair’ look Maggie usually had. She felt like a tool but if it worked, it would be worth it.
There were still a couple of hours to kill before the meeting and Maggie had been sick of fighting with her dad so she put on her coat and headed out to sneak a cigarette. Of course, that would be when she discovered she was out of cigarettes. That was annoying but no t a big deal with Frye’s convenience store being along the way to the apartments so the red head started walking. It was pretty quiet around town although Maggie thought she saw one or two people walking toward her out of the corner of her eye. Except when she turned to look them head on, there was no one there. Okay, note to self: Make eye appointment asap
Once she got to the store, Maggie quickly darted inside to and was relieved that there wasn’t a line. She was able to quickly purchase a pack of Kamel Reds and was soon back outside, tearing into the package when she saw a familiar face. “Hey”, she said as way of greeting before concentrating on the package again.
