"No, we shouldn't." Luke agreed heartily, although his tone wasn't quite as hopeful as Lizzie's. He'd been trying to "stretch his wings" for years now and he never got very far. He smiled at her word choice. "Incestuous, huh? I don't think it's quite that bad yet. I think there's enough of us here that even if they do force us to pair off, we can stay away from sleeping with our cousins for at least another generation or two."
He wound his fingers into Lizzie's hair and took a deep breath, imagining freedom, escape. "Yeah they would. And with good reason. What would everyone do without the two coolest people on the island?"
