"We don't need their permission to stretch our wings," Lizzie said in a rare moment of defiance. She wrinkled her nose. "When we get old enough, they can't keep us here. I mean, it's weird that no one's ever left, but I guess we do have everything here we need... Except, you know, new people." She smiled, "Everyone knows everyone here, it's so creepily incestuous."
She just nodded her head, the smile creeping back onto her face along with her previous excitement at the impossible trip. "And we can send our families postcards so they know we're still alive and having a great time and seeing the world. They'll all be so jealous."
